“I Don’t Believe What I Just Saw!”


This day in baseball history is one nearly all MLB fans will either remember or recognize. On October 15, 1988, Kirk Gibson played the role of improbable hero in Game 1 of the World Series leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to an early series lead over the Oakland Athletics. Gibson’s lame leg, pinch-hit, walk-off home run is classical and his fist pump is legendary.
