Miscellaneous Monday: 7/2

How Jesus Prayed For You – Justin Taylor breaks down Jesus’ high-priestly prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane into a very clear chart and diagram. He analytically exposes this beautiful text.

Sinner’s Prayer and the SBC Part 2 – David Platt goes into the practical ways he teaches and uses to lead someone to Christ. While Platt is not fond of the sinner’s prayer, (which he gives persuading reasons why this is) he does not totally condemn it as being ineffective. Platt answers how we can practically lead someone to salvation in Jesus Christ.

Teach Children the Bible is not about Them – Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of The Jesus Storybook Bible, lets us as teachers in the church know where we have missed the point with children. We have, unknowingly, led them to believe that the Bible is about us when in reality it is one big redemptive love story about God pursuing His fallen children by His grace. May we allow His story be sufficient in teaching children.

The Gospel in Two Minutes – Trip Lee presents the gospel in two minutes. Definitely worth watching.

Monday’s Unreached People Group – Pray for this people group today. Pray that God would open their hearts and spiritual eyes to be receptive to the gospel. Pray also that Christ-followers from across the world to go to these people and proclaim the glory of the gospel of Jesus Christ. May His light shine on their blind eyes.

By His Grace — For His Glory — For our Joy
