From the Hymnal: Lead Me to the Cross

In this late night of reflection and thought, I am gripped by the love of God. And where was His love most evident and gloriously displayed? Of course, in the death of Jesus Christ as our substitution and propitiation on the cross. I am grateful that God has “led me to the cross where His love poured out.” I make this my praise tonight and my plea as I wake will be for Him to “rid me of myself.” May we count all as loss when compared to knowing Jesus Christ, our faithful Savior. My prayers tonight will end in worship. I pray that yours will as well. May God lead you to the cross tonight, maybe for the first time as your heart is softened to the love, grace, and mercy of God. Jesus’ obedient death allows God to be just in forgiving our sins. Be gripped by His love on the cross tonight!

Savior I come
Quiet my soul remember
Redemptions hill
Where Your blood was spilled
For my ransom
Everything I once held dear
I count it all as lost

Lead me to the cross
Where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees
Lord I lay me down
Rid me of myself
I belong to You Lead me, lead me to the cross

You were as I
Tempted and trialed
You are
Te word became flesh
Bore my sin and death
Now you’re risen

To your heart
To your heart
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart
