From the Hymnal: The Stand

There is true beauty found in the poetry of song lyrics. Some realities, experiences, and emotions are not displayed well enough by basic conversational language. From time to time, the imagery of beautiful poetry put to music is what our hearts need to feel. Allow the ears of your heart to be opened to these beautiful lyrics. Feel the weight of the truth of these words. May we live obediently to Christ as we eagerly anticipate and work by the grace of God toward the reality of all peoples of all nations singing praises to the One true God. Nightly I will rejoice in and glorify God through song. Rejoice tonight in the glory of God and in the love of the Father! His grace is worthy of our humble adoration and worship. Stand in awe of our great Savior King.

You stood before creation                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Eternity within Your hand
You spoke the earth into motion
My soul now to stand

You stood before my failure
Carried the Cross for my shame
My sin weighed upon Your shoulders
My soul now to stand

So what can I say
What can I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You

So I’ll walk upon salvation
Your Spirit alive in me
This life to declare Your promise
My soul now to stand

So what can I say
What can I do
But offer this heart O God
Completely to You

So I’ll stand
With arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the One who gave it all

So I’ll stand
My soul Lord to You surrendered
All I am is Yours
